Kaisergebirge, AT

alt text

The Kaisergebirge (literally Emperor Mountains) are a mountain range in the Northern Limestone Alps and located in the Austrian state of Tyrol. The range is divided into two subranges: the Zahmer Kaiser to the north and the Wilder Kaiser to the south. The latter is higher and rugged, whilst the former is lower and has cultivated mountain pastures. The mountains comprising the Zahmer Kaiser have been a big part of my childhood where I spent many weekend days hiking with family. The photo was taken from the other side of the valey and offers a perfect view over the entire mountain range.
